Today's Class 2/27/13

Today in class some people still had to take the test from Monday. So while they took the test the rest of us started to read the next chapter. Chapter 4 is about Greek Gods and Goddesses. We were supposed to read about them and write at least two sentences about each person.

Today's Class 2/21/13

Today in class we took notes for the test next week. I took a lot of notes and i think the test will go well. Today Taylor and Mr. Schick was teaching the class. During the last period of class we got to work on anything we wanted. And surprisingly during this mod i found 4 brownies in my locker and Olivia took 3 of them.

Today's Class 2/20/12

In class today we went over LO1 and LO2 and LO3. We took notes and went over everything that is going to be on the test next week. For the test i am going to study the notes i took and go over all the stuff posted on Mr. Schick's blog and go over the chapter in the book.

Today's Class 2/19/13

In class today we went over LO1 on the power points. Carly, John, and Taylor presented there power point and I though it was really good and had lots of good information. After they finished Olivia, Matt and I presented our power point because we had "The Dark Ages" on it. We presented until the end of class and I think we are finishing it tomorrow.

Today's Class 1/15/13

In class we went over the test we took last week. The test was on prehistory and Egypt and other topics. I thought the test was kinds hard but the Essays and the short answer questions were easy. But the multiple choice problems were really hard.

Today's Class 1/14/13

In class today we continued to work on our power point. Matt and I finish the writing portion and now We just have to add pictures. Olivia was not in school today because she was sick. So it was really quiet in class today. Today in the power point we wrote about LO2 and the other civilizations.

Today's Class 2/13/13

Today in class we worked on the power point with our groups. Olivia, Matt, and I were working really hard and we were also chatting Mr. Schick on google docs. The power point is going well we wrote about the barbarians, ancient Greece and the geography or Greece and LO1 and LO2.

Today's Class 2/11/13

Today in class we went over the power point for the next chapter. The next chapter is about the Ancient Greek Civilization. It is also about the Indo-Europeans and the Early Europeans who were the "barbarians".  The Barbarians were trible people on the Indo-European decent who eventually came into contact with the civilization of the east. They were also organized enough to establish cultural rituals.

-         -  Within classical Greek civilization there appeared ideas, art forms, and types of governments whose influence on western civilization has lasted down to the preset day.
-          - Greeks began as one of many European barbarian people.
-          - They had a distinctive way of life.
-          - Based on farming and warfare.
-          - Around 2000 B.C. they migrated to Europe’s southern region.
-          - It was within easy reach of Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, and Egypt.
-          - The Greeks shared and adapted to more advanced ways of life.
-          - The earliest Greek civilization was an overshot of the ways of life.
-          - It had a crisis and recovery of the lands between Mesopotamia and the Indian Ocean.
-          - And became classical Greek civilization.
-          - The European Barbarians
-          - Over 3,000 years up to the Persian Empire civilization spread.
-          - The places that it didn’t spread to most people still lived in prehistoric village life.
-          - The rulers, priests, and scribes thought of the land between the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea was distant supplier of raw materials.
-         - The Earliest Europeans
-         - Before the historic encounter the Europeans way of life went through a lot of changes and advances.
-         - By 4000 B.C. farming and village life had spread.
-         - The Barbarian was of life
-         - The early Europeans had no sense of common identity
-         - From about 2500 B.C. onward Indo-European people moved into Europe
-         - The people of the region began to speak languages of Indo-European
-         - When a leading warrior died, his horses and chariots, his bronze  (or later, iron) swords  and daggers, and his gold and silver drinking cups would all go to the grave with him, - presumably so that he could go on riding, fighting, and drinking as a comrade of the gods in the afterlife. 

Today's Class 2/12/13

In class we took a test. The multiple choice was was hard but the essays were pretty easy.

Today's Class 2/7/13

Today in class we went over what was going to be on the test tomorrow and where we can find the material on Mr. Schick's blog. Then we went through the power point on Egypt and watched a movie. The movie was about the mummification process.

Today's Class 2/6/13

Today in class we talked about the test that is on Friday. Then we played a really really really hard game with our partner. Olivia and I failed miserably at building a pyramid  At the end of class we built the pyramid and it was the happiest day of my life!!! Now I know i am never going to be a construction builder!!!!!
